Marine Corps League Sgt. J. R. Tijerina Detachment 1295 serves Waller and Ft. Bend Counties and portions of Harris County

 

Meetings are held on the second Monday of the month at the Katy Elks Lodge # 2628 at 1900 hrs., 1060 Katy Fort Bend Rd. (across from Katy Mills), Katy TX 77493.

 

Anyone who is an honorably discharged Marine or FMF Corpsman qualifies for membership.

Eastex Detachment #779 - MCL

 

This outstanding MCL Detachment has regular meetings on the third Thursday of each month except December. They meet at McKenzie's BBQ on North Frazier Street (between Dallas and Wilson Streets), Conroe, Texas at 7:00 p.m. You are urged to come early and eat good food.

The LCpl. Richard A Anderson Chapter, Houston, Texas meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month at Ninfa's Mexican Restuarant, Monroe and the Gulf Freeway at 1830. 

DUES: $10.00 per year (must be a member of the National Organization).

Lone Star Veterans Association

 

The newly formed veterans association is a subcommittee of the Houston Military Affairs committee.  It is established as a network of community leaders, veterans' organizations and government agencies to aid veterans and their families in their transition from military to civilian life.

We recently revamped both our Air Force ROTC website and the Houston Corps of Cadets website.  These contain many links including ones to our 17 universities and colleges, veterans organizations, Junior ROTC units in Houston, DoD research conferences we have co-hosted with UH, leadership seminars, post-9/11 GI Bill information, and lots more.

Promote in the community a method whereby U.S. Marines, either regular or reserve, and their families are made to feel a part of the community family.

Present awards for outstanding acts that are in the general public interest.

Aid the members of U.S. Marine families, regular or reserve, in time of illness, hardship or financial distress.

Offer scholarships for members of Marine families who need financial assistance either in secondary educational pursuits or public schooling.

Provide an orderly, business like method, at no cost, for the Marine organizations, regular and reserve, to promote their objectives.

Support any benevolent, charitable, or religious ceremony in interest of the community needs.
